About This Service
If you have ever tried to move into a student apartment on September 1st in Toronto, you already know what controlled chaos looks like. The streets around York University in North York, the blocks around the University of Toronto St. George campus downtown, the student houses near Bloor and Bathurst, and the apartments around Toronto Metropolitan University on Yonge and Gerrard are all dealing with the same thing simultaneously. Moving trucks are doubled up on one-way streets. Landlords are handing off keys. Roommates are arriving from different cities. Parents are trying to help. Fast Track Move has been the student movers Toronto families call to cut through all of that, and we have done it enough times that we know exactly what works. Our depot is on Carluke Crescent in North York, which puts us minutes from the York University Keele campus. If you are moving into or out of the Village at York U, a student rental on Shoreham Drive, or an apartment near Seneca College Newnham campus on Finch Avenue East, we are the closest full-service moving team available. For University of Toronto students moving into the Annex, Kensington Market, or Palmerston neighbourhood, we are on-site in 30 to 45 minutes. For TMU students near Church Street and Carlton, the drive from our North York location runs about 25 minutes in normal traffic. Student moves are different from family moves in a few important ways. The furniture is often IKEA, which is excellent news if you know how to handle it and a real problem if you do not. IKEA furniture is designed to be disassembled and reassembled, but pieces like KALLAX shelving units, PAX wardrobes, and MALM bed frames need to be taken apart with the right tools and packed flat to avoid damaging the particleboard surfaces. We do this every September and May. We bring the tools, we take apart what needs to come apart, and we reassemble it in the new room so it is usable the same day. Roommate situations are another reality we navigate all the time. Three roommates moving into a house near Humber College North campus, each coming from a different Toronto apartment, mean three pickup locations and one drop-off. Or two people splitting the cost of a student apartment move and needing to split the bill. We handle multi-stop student moves without extra complexity in the quote, and we split invoices when two residents are sharing a move. Between-semester storage is a genuine need for students who sublet their apartment for the summer or whose student housing does not allow residents to store belongings over the break. We offer short-term storage from our GTA facility. Students can move their furniture and boxes into storage in April or May, and we deliver everything back when the new lease starts in September. No need to rent a van, beg friends for help, and make three trips. The budget reality of student moving is something we take seriously. The 2-mover crew at $179 per hour with a 3-hour minimum at $537 is the most common choice for student moves and is genuinely appropriate for most 1-bedroom or shared-room apartment situations. A dorm room or bachelor apartment can often be loaded in under 3 hours. A full 2-bedroom shared apartment between two roommates might need 4 to 5 hours. We tell you the realistic range upfront, not the optimistic one that leaves you with surprise charges at the end. Humber College students in Etobicoke and Scarborough campus students at U of T are also well within our service range. We serve every post-secondary campus across the GTA, including Centennial College in Scarborough and George Brown College in the east end. September and May are our two busiest months precisely because of the student moving surge, and we build our schedule around those peaks. Book early for late August and early September. Those dates fill up two to three weeks in advance every year. Fast Track Move is CVOR-certified, WSIB-covered, and has 926 Google reviews at a 5.0 average. Students and their parents across North York and Toronto trust us because we are reliable, affordable, and honest about what a move will actually cost.
